Important Guidelines by UIDAI

As per the UIDAI rules and guidelines, all children who are less than 5 years old do not require to go for biometric and retina scan process used for Aadhar card registration. For them, only clicking their photograph by the concerned person along with essential details submitted by his parents is enough for registering a child for Aadhar card. The details of the child are linked with the Aadhar Card details of his parents. On the basis of these details, a new Aadhar card is issued to the child which is valid till the child turns 5 Years old.

After 5 Years, the child has to re-enroll for Aadhar card by updating his details and finally present for biometric process. His fingerprints and retina scan is taken by he UIDAI enrollment center and a new Aadhar Card is issued by his name. As biometric details of children changes frequently during first few years of their growth, they are required to update them in Aadhar card Enrolment center. At the age of 15 Years, the child has to visit the UIDAI enrolment center again for the final updation of his Aadhar Card.

After this, no more biometric changes are required.Still he can change his personal details like change in Name, Date of Birth, Address, Mobile Number etc in Aadhar card online as well as offline.
