APS bright students felicitated by Eastern Army Commander

KOLKATA: Students who excelled in their Class-X and Class-XII examinations from the Army Public Schools in West Bengal and the northeastern states and their principals were felicitated by Lt Gen M M Naravane, GOC-in-C, Eastern Command and Veena Naravane, regional president, AWWA, on Monday. All the students who appeared for their Class-X and Class-XII CBSE examinations from the 22 Army Public Schools in West Bengal and the northeastern states cleared them. Of those who appeared for the Class-X board exams, 27% scored more than 90% while 17% of those who sat for their Class-XII exams cleared the mark.
“The APSs serve wards of soldiers across the country. They are run as private entities under AWES with excellent infrastructure and amenities. The schools in West Bengal and the Northeast are operating for 25 years now. Over the years, these have been turned into premiere educational institutes, thanks to the efforts of dedicated staff and management,” an official said.

While Tushar Tayal of APS, Tezpur topped the Assam state by scoring 99%, Swapnil Mishra of APS Shillong topped Meghalaya with a score of 98% in Class XII. In Class X Rohan Tripathi of APS Bengdubi scored 98.80%. The school toppers were gifted Kindle e-book readers and high scorers received other gifts.
