BENGALURU: While students appearing for II PU exams in the state expressed their displeasure over the “extremely tough” and “out of the syllabus” questions, PU board director PC Jaffer ruled out giving grace marks in style.
Waving a question paper in his left hand and a textbook in his right, Jaffer declared: “I have personally gone through each and every question and have checked it in the textbook. All questions are from the syllabus.”
He even read out a question and the answer to it from the specific page number, though it seemed he was prepared for the questions from mediapersons.
“A committee was constituted and each and every question was checked. We haven’t gone beyond syllabus. We have received many emails saying that question paper was very tough and one person emailed that if department gives grace marks, they would take us to court!,” he said.
He also cautioned that the department won’t spare miscreants circulating fake question paper. Speaking about rumours of second year PUC Kannada question paper getting leaked, he said, “We have been monitoring the question paper movement through various ways. There is no chance that the question paper will get leaked. However, some people are just spreading lies among students by circulating fake question papers. The department will book cases against those miscreants and will ensure action will be taken.”
