Minister orders probe into RDVV PhD exam

BHOPAL: Higher education minister Jeetu Patwari on Tuesday ordered a high level inquiry in the PhD entrance test conducted by Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya (RDVV). Students who had appeared for the test filed complaints against the university for declaring a candidate as topper, who allegedly did not appear in the exam. TOI had carried a news item about it on Tuesday.
Patwari said it will be ensured that everything was fine conducting the exam. “We want a fair exam. Inquiry would be done about entire process,” he said. Interviews to be conducted from Wednesday have been postponed. University’s vice-chancellor Kapil Dev Mishra said that candidates are raising issue without any evidence.

“Where is evidence? How to initiate action when no evidence is provided by anyone?” Mishra said. Nikunj Upadhyay, a complainant, said the student who secured 73 marks out of 100 was not present at the exam centre and has given exams sitting in some other place. “I am M Phil in journalism and mass communication. This is shocking that the candidate who was not present at the exam hall topped the test,” he alleged. The exam was conducted on February 8.
