Slow Day 2 for Sonam, Sanjay at box office

While Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Dream Girl’ is enjoying a dream run at the box office, but sadly, the same cannot be said for the new film releases including Karan Deol’s ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’, Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Prassthanam’ and Sonam Kapoor‘s ‘The Zoya Factor’.
The three new films belonging to different genres opened poorly at the box office. Sadly, Saturday showed no silver lining as the three films failed to pick up its pace at the ticket windows. According to reports on BoxofficeIndia.com, the films saw minimal growth with ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’ taking the lead and earning an estimated of Rs1.50 crore nett. The film showed a minimal growth of about 30-35 %, thus taking its two-day business to a little under Rs 2.75 crore nett.

The report further records early estimates of ‘Prassthanam’ at about Rs 1 crore nett on Saturday. Thus adding to the Rs 75 lakhs nett on the first day, the film will now have an estimated two-day total of Rs 1.75 crore nett. The Dutt-starrer also recorded a growth of around 30%.
Meanwhile, Sonam’s ‘The Zoya Factor’ is trailing behind with an estimated collection of around 85 lakhs nett on Saturday. The film that earned an estimated Rs 75 lakhs on Friday will now have a two-day estimated total of Rs 1.50 crore nett.

Despite sharing business over the weekend, the three films are not just competing among themselves, but also the two older releases, including ‘Dream Girl’ and ‘Chhichhore’. The Ayushmann-starrer and Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer respectively have continued to hold strong at the box office and do great business. While the former is expected to earn about Rs 9 crore nett, the latter is said to earn about Rs 5 crore nett.
The report goes on to further state that the critically acclaimed Nitesh Tiwari directorial‘Chhichhore’ might just come out as the big winner this weekend, leaving behind the other 4.
