Sridevi’s demise: Jail DGP makes new claims

The untimely demise of Bollywood’s first female Superstar, Sridevi sent shockwaves through the film industry and the nation at large. Throngs of fans and filmstars flooded the Mumbai city streets to bid the national award-winning actress a final goodbye in a grand state funeral. Over a year after the actress’ passing, a new report has surfaced on media portals, raising shocking allegations about the cause of death.
According to reports, the Kerala Kaumudi newspaper quoted a jail DGP, Rishiraj Singh alleging that the actress’ death was not an accident but a murder. He reportedly claimed that his late friend, forensic surgeon Dr Umadathan claimed that the death might have been a murder and pointed out several circumstantial pieces of evidence to prove that “the actress’ death was not accidental.”

He claimed that the late doctor reasoned that “she would not drown” in one-foot water in a bathtub “without pushing by someone.”

Reports also allege that a retired ACP of Delhi Police named Ved Bhushan claimed he wasn’t allowed to have a look at Sridevi’s hotel room. However, he ruled out the possibility of ‘accidental drowning’ – as stated in Sridevi’s post-mortem report, by enacting the possible events in the adjacent room. Bhushan even went on record to slam the Dubai Police’s forensic report, stating that the findings were unsatisfactory and that there were many questions that went unanswered.
